Someone calling for help and someone running toward it need completely different things from a phone. So we build two apps, on one network, and they are honest with each other about what they are.
Live on Google Play For her
Anyone who walks home alone.
Hands-free Voice SOS. Say the word out loud and your circle is alerted with your live location, even with the phone locked and no internet. Plus a live circle map, safe zones, and one-tap 112.
In development For the people who come
Verified responders.
The dispatch app for people who agree to turn up. Go on duty, get sent the nearest emergency, navigate to her, and confirm arrival with a code only she can give you.
ORBII holds as little about a woman as it possibly can: her voice never leaves her phone, her location is opt-in, her route is erased after 7 days. ORBII Helpers holds enough to be accountable for a rescue: a verified identity, and continuous location while on duty.
One app would mean one permission set that is the union of both, which is exactly the "safety app that tracks you" people are right to distrust. Splitting them is how each one gets to be honest.
Both apps talk to the same system, so a helper going on duty is dispatchable the moment they do, and an SOS reaches whoever is genuinely nearest.
You do not need a verified helper to be helped. An ordinary ORBII user nearby gets the alert too, and can respond. Verification buys accountability, not permission.
