ORBII Safety ("ORBII", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it.

1. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide
When you create an account or use ORBII, we may collect:
- Your name and email address from Google Sign-In (we use Google to sign you in; we never see your Google password)
- An optional phone number and profile photo you choose to add
- Emergency contact names and phone numbers you add to the app
b. Responder Verification Documents
If — and only if — you choose to apply to become a verified ORBII Responder, we collect identity documents you upload (such as your Aadhaar card, PAN card, a selfie, and a profile photo). These are stored privately and used solely to verify your identity before approving you as a responder. They are never shown to the people you help, and never used for any other purpose. If you do not apply to be a responder, we do not collect any of this.
c. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the ORBII app, we automatically collect:
- Device location (GPS coordinates) — only during active SOS events or when you explicitly enable location sharing
- Device identifiers such as operating system version and device model
- App usage data including feature interactions and session duration
- Crash reports and diagnostic logs to improve stability
d. Audio Data
ORBII listens for voice-activated SOS triggers only when you enable the Voice SOS feature. This listening happens entirely on your device — the audio is processed locally to detect trigger phrases and is never uploaded, streamed, or stored by us. We do not record or store ambient audio during non-emergency periods. If audio is recorded during an active SOS to help document the incident, it is stored securely and you can request its deletion at any time.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the ORBII safety platform
- Send emergency alerts and live location to your designated trusted contacts during an active SOS event
- Notify you of product updates, safety insights, and service announcements
- Analyse usage patterns to improve the app experience
- Respond to your support requests, questions, and feedback
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or misuse
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for targeted advertising. We do not sell your data to any third party.
3. Sharing Your Information
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
a. Your Family Circle & Trusted Contacts
During an active SOS event, your live location and alert status are shared with the emergency contacts and family circle you have designated within the app. You control who they are. This sharing happens only during an active SOS (or a Safe Journey you start) and stops when the event ends.
b. Verified Responders (Premium)
If you are a Premium subscriber, an active SOS may also alert verified ORBII Responders near you so they can help faster. Free-tier users' SOS is shared only with their own family circle and contacts — never with nearby responders or strangers. A responder only ever sees your location and alert while helping with an active emergency.
c. Service Providers
We work with third-party vendors who assist us in operating our infrastructure, processing payments, and sending notifications. These providers are bound by contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations and are permitted to use your data only as directed by ORBII.
d. Law Enforcement
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person or to prevent illegal activity.
e. Business Transfers
If ORBII is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Emergency audio recordings are retained for up to 90 days and then permanently deleted, unless you request earlier deletion or they are subject to a legal hold.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@orbii.in. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
5. Security of Your Information
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) between the app and our servers
- Encryption of data at rest on our managed cloud infrastructure
- Row-level database security, so each user can only access their own data
- On-device processing of voice detection — trigger audio never leaves your phone
- Private storage for responder verification documents, accessible only to authorised reviewers
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to certain processing of your data
- Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

7. Children's Privacy
ORBII is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at privacy@orbii.in and we will promptly delete that information.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email at least 7 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision.
Your continued use of ORBII after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
