Help without reaching the phone
She just says "help" out loud. No unlocking, no button, no hunting for the app in a panic. Her phone hears it and acts, even from a pocket or bag.
ORBII Safety listens for one word. Say it, and your phone alerts your circle and the people nearest you, before you can even reach for it.

The reason we built ORBII crimes against women were reported across India in 2023. That is roughly one every single minute. NCRB, Crime in India 2023 ↗
cases are cruelty by a husband or his family. The violence is often closest to home.
NCRB 2023 ↗Every figure here is real, reported data from India's National Crime Records Bureau. And reported cases are only part of the picture, countless more are never recorded. ORBII exists so that in the seconds that matter, help is already on its way.
Three things ORBII does better than any panic button: it hears you, it reaches your people, and it never watches you.
No unlocking, no button hunting. Set a distress word, say it, and ORBII raises the alarm, even with the screen off and the app closed.
“help me”
Start a Safe Journey or trigger an SOS, and the people you trust see your live location. When it ends, it stops. No always-on tracking, ever.
On the way home · 12 min
Your distress word is recognised on your own phone. Your audio is never uploaded or sold, and detection keeps working in basements and dead zones.
Your audio stays on this device
Shout "help", "bachao" or "madad". No unlocking, no button, even with the screen off. Recognised on the phone itself.
No signal, no problem. The SOS hops phone to phone over Bluetooth, end-to-end encrypted, until it reaches one that can reach the world.
Background-checked helpers nearby are dispatched, matched by proximity, trust and reliability, so a real person actually comes.
And the only one building responder density campus by campus, on real dispatches, not just downloads.
Not a testimonial, an honest walk-through of the exact moment ORBII is built for, step by step.
Her phone is in her bag. Stopping to unlock it, find an app and hold a button is the one thing she cannot safely do right now.
"Help, help." ORBII hears it on her own phone, screen off, in her pocket. No unlocking, no tapping, no app to open first.
Every SOS starts with a short, cancellable countdown, so a false alarm costs nothing. This is not a false alarm. She lets it run.
The people she chose get her name and live location at once, by notification and SMS, and can follow her on a map in real time.
Her phone quietly records for the record, and the people who care are already calling and heading her way. She was never alone with it.
Help that is already moving, before panic takes over. That is the whole idea.
You cannot walk beside her every night. ORBII is built so you do not have to, and so she never feels watched. Safety when she needs it, privacy the rest of the time.
She just says "help" out loud. No unlocking, no button, no hunting for the app in a panic. Her phone hears it and acts, even from a pocket or bag.
During an SOS or a Safe Journey, you see her live location. The rest of the time you do not. Care, not surveillance, and she controls it.
Set a safe zone around her college or hostel. If she leaves, she is asked first if it was on purpose. Only if something is off are you told. Fewer false alarms, never a missed real one.
The voice listening happens on her phone. The audio never leaves the device, never touches a server, and is never sold. The opposite of the apps that got caught selling children’s locations.
A note we mean: ORBII will never track anyone silently. Whoever a zone or location is set for can always see it and remove it. That is the line between keeping someone safe and watching them, and we do not cross it.
Read: a parent’s guide to ORBII →India loses signal constantly: floods, landslides, dead zones, and among the highest rates of internet shutdowns in the world. Most safety apps go dark at exactly that moment. We are building ORBII to keep going. Here is what is coming next.
No data? Your SOS still goes out as a plain text with your live location to your circle. SMS rides the cell signal that survives when data dies, on bare 2G, deep in a village, or with data switched off.
No signal? Your SOS hops quietly from phone to phone over Bluetooth until it reaches an ORBII phone that does have signal, and that phone sends it on for you. Help gets out even when your bars are gone.
Floods, landslides, a cut connection: ORBII becomes an offline lifeline with one-tap 'I need help' or 'I'm safe', every Indian emergency helpline in one place, and step-by-step tips for each kind of disaster.
When everything is down, your SOS reaches nearby ORBII helpers over Bluetooth and guides them to you by signal strength, warmer and colder, while your exact location never leaves your phone. An ORBII Plus feature.
ORBII uses the best signal your phone has and drops to plain Bluetooth when it must, so a budget phone and a flagship still hand help to each other.
Built with privacy first: anything ORBII passes between phones over Bluetooth is sealed end to end, so the phones relaying it are blind couriers that cannot read it, only the people you trust can. These features are built and now being tested on real phones, they are not fully proven yet, and we will say so clearly the day each one is. What already works today: hands-free Voice SOS that runs entirely on your phone, still rare in India.
A private, anonymous, and moderated space for women to share, ask, and support each other. Your identity here is yours to choose, and your real details are never shown.
Your community identity is separate from your account. Your real name, photo and number are never shown, only the handle and avatar you choose.
Share real experiences, ask questions, and find answers from women who have been there. Help without hesitation.
Posts are organised by topic, so you can quickly find what is relevant, from safety tips to your rights under the law.
Follow people whose voice you trust, react to posts, and reply. A genuinely supportive space, not a shouting match.
Reported posts are hidden automatically, you can block anyone, and everything is watched. A calm space to seek help.
The ORBII Community is part of ORBII Plus.
ORBII keeps your circle connected on a shared map and tells you when someone arrives or leaves a place that matters. You choose when you are visible, and the day's trail is wiped every midnight.
Draw a zone around a place that matters, home, school, work. If someone you love arrives or leaves, you are told right away.
Up to four people, each with their own colour and photo on one live map. See today's route and how long someone stopped at each place, so you know she reached the hostel and not just that she is somewhere near it.
Today's trail is deleted every night at midnight. Not archived, not backed up, deleted. Sharing is opt-in, always visible to everyone in the circle, and off for anyone under 18. Your location is never sold.
Risk changes with the clock, not just the place. ORBII keeps your awareness tuned to the time of day and gets you help the moment you need it.

ORBII (also written ORBII Safety) is a women's personal-safety app for India built around hands-free Voice SOS. In an emergency you simply say a word out loud, "help", "bachao", or "madad", and ORBII alerts your trusted circle with your live location, even with the phone locked and even offline. The speech is recognised on your own device, so your audio is never uploaded, and your location is never sold. It is live on Google Play and free to start.
Yes. "ORBII" and "ORBII Safety" are the same product, a hands-free voice-SOS women's safety app for India. Some people also type it as "Orbii" or "the ORBII app"; it all refers to the same app made by ORBII Safety.
ORBII listens on your device for a distress word like "help." The moment it hears it, a short countdown starts and then your trusted circle is alerted with your live location, and evidence recording can begin — all without you touching your phone.
No. Voice detection runs entirely on your phone to recognise your trigger word. That audio is never uploaded, streamed, or stored on our servers, and there is no ambient recording during normal times. The one and only way audio leaves your phone is if you volunteer for Voice Quests, where you deliberately record yourself saying a distress word to help train our Indian-accent model. That is off by default, you tap record each time, and you can withdraw whenever you like.
Never. Background listening happens entirely on-device, so there is nothing there for us to leak or sell. The only audio we ever hold is a Voice Quest clip you chose to record and send us, which is used solely to train distress-word detection, is never sold, and is deleted when you withdraw or delete your account.
Every SOS begins with a short countdown you can cancel with a single tap, so a false alarm never reaches anyone. Accidental triggers are forgiven; real ones alert everyone instantly.
Yes. ORBII keeps listening in the background, so you are protected even with the screen off and the app closed. You never have to open the app first to get help.
Core voice detection works offline. When your signal returns, any queued alerts and your location are sent to your contacts. We are also adding SMS-based fallback for areas with limited network.
Yes. The core safety features, Voice SOS, alerts to your trusted circle, and one-tap access to 112, are free for every woman. ORBII Plus (₹149/month) adds the verified responder network, and ORBII Family (₹499/month) protects up to four people you love.
Only the people you choose. Your location goes to your circle during an active SOS, during a Safe Journey, and while you have Circle sharing switched on. Circle sharing is off until you turn it on yourself, everyone in the circle can see who is currently visible, and today’s trail is deleted every midnight. Nobody outside your circle ever sees it, and ORBII never sells location data to anyone.
No. ORBII helps you reach help faster, but in immediate danger you should always call 112. ORBII keeps that one tap away and shares your live location with the people you trust.
ORBII runs on Android 8.0 and above. An iPhone (iOS) version is planned but not available yet.
ORBII is live on the Google Play Store. Download it on any Android phone (8.0 and above) and set it up in a couple of minutes. An iPhone version is planned but not out yet.
No. Voice detection is built to run efficiently in the background. Because nothing is streamed to a server, it uses far less power than apps that constantly send audio or location to the cloud.
English and Hindi are built in, so you can call for help in the word that comes to you naturally in a moment of panic.
Every verified responder completes identity verification and a review before they can ever respond, and builds a rating through real responses. Verified responders are part of ORBII Plus; free users are alerted to their own trusted circle.
ORBII is built for a woman's own safety, on her terms. Your audio never leaves your phone, you always see exactly who can view your location, and we never sell your data — the opposite of family-tracking apps caught selling users' location.
Your trusted circle receives your live location, evidence recording can begin, and (for ORBII Plus members) nearby verified responders are alerted — all at once, hands-free.
Free users can add up to three trusted contacts. ORBII Plus and Family raise this so you can build a wider circle of people looking out for you.
Yes. With a circle, you and the people you love can look out for each other. ORBII Family adds safe zones and shared alerts for up to four people.
Never. No data brokers, no advertising profiles, ever. On a safety app, your trust is everything — your safety is the product, not you.
You can apply in the app under Profile. You'll complete identity verification before you're able to respond to people who need help nearby.
