How we compare things
Four questions decide whether a safety product is any good, and they are the same four on every page here.
- Can you trigger it when you cannot use your hands? Most tools fail here, and it is the situation they exist for.
- Where does your data go? Specifically whether voice is processed on the device or uploaded, and whether location is ever sold.
- Does it work without internet? The places people feel least safe are often the places with no signal.
- Is the company honest about what does not work yet? Including us. Our offline mesh relay and verified responder network are still in field testing, and we say so on every page that mentions them.
